Herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years to bring gentle relief for the symptoms of cold and flu. Runny nose, sinus and lung congestion, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, headache and fever are all part of the body's defense system to combat respiratory infection.

How to use the cold care formulas:
Infection Formula
At the first sign of stuffy nose or sneezing, put 2 droppersful of the Infection Formula into a cup of hot water. Let it sit for 3 minutes to dissipate the alcohol, then drink it as hot as possible. Repeat every two hours until bedtime. Also, if you have the courage, eat 3 small cloves from a bulb of fresh, raw garlic with a small piece of bread once per day until the symptoms are gone.
Herbal Throat Spray
At the first sign of sore throat, spray the Herbal Throat Spray all around the back of your throat (do not inhale while spraying the formula). Spray the throat every hour if possible. You may also use the Infection Formula as described above.
Cough Calming Syrup
Take one teaspoon of the Cough Calming Syrup every hour for coughs. If you have a persistant cough that does not seem cold or flu related, see your health care practitioner.
Decongest Inhaler
To decongest a stuffy nose and help relieve lung congestion, inhale directly from the bottle or put a small amount of the Decongestant Formula oil on a piece of tissue or clean cloth and inhale deeply. Inhale with one side at a time. Repeat this procedure several times per day or as needed.
To make a decongestant vapor steam, boil two cups of water in a small saucepan. Have a towel ready to put over your head. After the water boils, remove the saucepan from the heat source and put 3-5 drops of the Decongestant Formula into the steaming water. Put your head over the steam with your eyes closed and inhale. As the vapor cools, drape the towel over your head and the saucepan to absorb more of the steam.
Ingredients of the Cold Care formulas:
INFECTION FORMULA (2 oz.)
Fresh, wildcrafted or organically grown Echinacea root, Osha root, Usnea lichen, Oregon Grape root, Red root, Boneset leaves, Chamomile flowers, Goldenseal root and Capsicum fruit; distilled water, grain alcohol, distilled water and vegetable glycerin.
HERBAL THROAT SPRAY (1 oz.)
Fresh, wildcrafted or organically grown Echinacea root, Propolis, Usnea lichen, Goldenseal root, Licorice root, Myrrh gum, Osha root, Capsicum fruit; organic honey, grain alcohol, distilled water and vegetable glycerin.
COUGH CALMING SYRUP (4 oz.)
Fresh, wildcrafted or organically grown Mullein leaf, Elecampane root, Coltsfoot leaves, Licorice root, Chamomile flowers, Echinacea root, Lobelia herb and Capsicum fruit in a base of vegetable glycerin and honey.
DECONGESTANT FORMULA (.5 oz.)
Pure medicinal quality essential oils of Eucalyptus and Clary Sage. Menthol.
Additional Note:
During colds or flu, also remember to rest, drink plenty of fluids and take extra vitamin C.
